Agnes Amelia Hilbers Schreiber, age 102, of Windthorst, passed away Thursday morning, March 9, 2023, in Wichita Falls.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst. Funeral mass was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Agnes was born August 23, 1920 in Slaton, Texas to the late Frank J. Hilbers and Tillie Anderle Hilbers.

She and Joe P. Schreiber were married August 4, 1948 in Windthorst. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2005.

Agnes was a homemaker throughout her life. She loved gardening, working in the yard, canning and crocheting. Agnes was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Society for over fifty years.

Survivors include four daughters, Rose Derzapf and husband, Larry of Henrietta, Alice Parkhill and husband, Johnnie of Bowie, Betty Novak and husband, Larry of Graham, and Theresa Simons of Dean; nine grandchildren, Marty Parkhill and wife, Wendy, Jason Novak, Dana Cameron and husband, John, Kevin Derzapf, Christie Derzapf, Tracy Gibson and husband, David, Wendy Burroughs and husband, Zack, Keri Novak and Dennis Simons and wife, Rhawnie; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph Paul Schreiber, Jr. on December 5, 1975; sonin- law, David Simons in October 2012; one brother, Floyd Hilbers; and four sisters, Gertie Poirot, Frances Veitenheimer, Lena Ostermann and Marie Hilbers.
