Bert Ostermann, age 66, lifelong resident of Windthorst, passed away Sunday afternoon, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

The family received friends from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windthorst with Nathan Roach, of First Baptist Church of Holliday officiating under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Bert was born Nov. 17, 1956 in Jacksboro to the late Lambert Ewalt Ostermann and Olivia Francis Humpert Ostermann.

He graduated from Windthorst High School. He married Barbara Chambles and together they had two children, Billy and Jody.

Bert was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and the Sons of the American Legion. He also was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst.

Bert loved playing darts, dancing, cooking and baking. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed sharing the farm life with his family especially the cousins, nieces a nephews.

Survivors include his son, Billy Wayne Ostermann and wife, Sheree of Lewisburg, Tennessee, daughter, Jody Lang and husband, Matthew of Holliday; three brothers, Clarence Ostermann and wife, Patty of Plano, Leonard Ostermann and wife, Debbie of Chesapeake, Virginia, and John Ostermann and wife, Mabel of Mesquite; sister, Patsy Zuniga; five grandchildren, Cooper Wright, Caden Ostermann, Carson Ostermann, Brayden Lang and Brooklynn Lang; and several nieces and nephews.
