Clara Jean Smith, age 94, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Archer City, passed away on April 12, 2023 under the care of Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, in the Archer City Cemetery with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church of Archer City, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Jean was born Nov. 29, 1928 in Alvord to the late Willie Pearl McBroom Parks and Clyde Earl Parks.

Jean lived most of her life in Archer City while working and retiring at First Wichita National Bank (known as the Big Blue Bank) in downtown Wichita Falls. Jean later worked for Wells Fargo in Archer City.

Jean enjoyed working outside in her yard and picking up her pecans to shell for the family.

Jean is survived by three nieces, Sandra Sheffield and husband, Gerald, Ava Bentley and husband, Charles all of Wichita Falls, and Ann Marr of Ft. Worth. Jean is also survived by one nephew, Gary Parks and wife, Megan of Weatherford. Jean is also blessed with great-nieces and nephews, Duane Deen and wife, Ann of Mansfield, Diane Deen and husband, David of Wichita Falls, Darci Murfield of Wichita Falls, Tammi Howell and husband, David of Seymour, Trisha Wells and husband, Kyle of Iowa Park, Ross Loftin of Wichita Falls, Jennifer Roberts and husband, Jeff of Ft. Worth, Debbie Giles and husband, Brian of Ft. Worth, Kenny Parks of Irving and Keith Parks of Nevada. Great-greatnieces and nephews in her life were Dylan Deen of Burleson, Jacey Deen of Ft. Worth, Alicia Murfield of Wichita Falls, Hayden Frank and wife, Danielle of Shallowater, Lindsey Holub and husband, Josh of Seymour, Melani Harris and husband, Colin of Lubbock, Laura Howell of Lubbock, Kaci Schafer and husband, Marc of Iowa Park, Kody Wells of Iowa Park, Brian, Danny and Mikayla Giles of McKinney, David Roberts and wife, Madi of College Station, Abby Roberts of San Marcos, Gabe Roberts of Ft. Worth, Brayden Parks of Arkansas and Amber Palmer of Maryland. Jean also has one great-greatgreat nephew, Miller Holub.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leon Parks; sister, Bessie Pearl Woods, niece, Sharon Vanbebber; and great-nephew, Randy Loftin.
