Elsie Mae Frerich Koetter, age 91, of Scotland, passed away Thursday morning, April 6, at her residence.

Vigil service and rosary were held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 10, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Elsie was born Nov. 8, 1931 in Archer City, Texas to the late Charles George Frerich and Josephine Caroline Brown Frerich. She and Edwin Koetter were married April 19, 1949 in Scotland. They were married for 58 wonderful years before his passing on Jan. 24, 2008.

Elsie was employed by K-Mart until her retirement. She loved every member of her family and especially enjoyed making homemade gifts for each of them. She was great at making crafts, crocheting, and embroidering. Elsie was also an avid and accomplished bowler for many years.

Elsie was a devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she had the honor of being the first person in Scotland to crown the Blessed Mother. In addition to being a member of the Christian Mother’s Society and Senior Club, Elsie sang in the choir for thirty beautiful years.

Survivors include six sons; Charles and Edwina Koetter of Henrietta, Danny Koetter of Archer City, John and Lou Ann Koetter of Gainesville, Gary Koetter of Kadane Corner, Dale Koetter of Lake Arrowhead, and Don of Holliday; three daughters, Carol Stevens of Wichita Falls, Judy Yauger of Scotland, and Teresa and Daniel Morath of Wichita Falls; daughter- in-law, Linda Koetter of Wichita Falls; twenty seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren andgreat-great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Edwin; son, Clyde Koetter; grandson, Jeremiah Rainey; daughter-in-law, Rolyn Koetter and five brothers and sisters.
