Body

Matthew Wayne Lindemann passed away from his earthly life on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Scotland, Texas. Although his death was sudden and devastating, he did not feel pain or suffering.

A rosary was conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at Aulds Funeral Home in Archer City followed by a visitation from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. His service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at First Baptist Church in Wichita. Burial immediately following at St. Boniface Cemetery in Scotland.

Matt was born on Nov. 30, 1982, to Wayne and Laverne Berend Lindemann in Wichita Falls. He grew up working on his family’s dairy farm in Scotland. He graduated from Windthorst High School and attended Vernon College. Matt began working at Koetter Tire Store and quickly learned the tricks of the trade. He married the love of his life, his soulmate Andrea Lauren Murray on May 28, 2005. She was his entire world as were his children, Cayden Lewis and Chandler Ann.

Matt continued his trade working at Hoye Tractor and Gravity Offroad. He opened his own business, Windthorst Tire in 2018 to be closer to his home. He sold the tire store in 2024 and began pumping oil wells like his father and grandfather did.

Matt was actively involved in the communities of Scotland and Windthorst. He was a past member of the Scotland City Council and was currently serving as vice president of Windthorst ISD School Board. Matt loved all sports and coaching kids, but he didn’t coach for wins/losses, he coached to build character. He made sure he was creating good teammates. When he wasn’t attending school functions or helping his son to be the welder he is, you could find him mentoring high school boys to be sons of God for the Ironmen Group.

Considered as a friend to all who knew him, Matt would do anything for anyone without question or hesitation. He was the true definition of a servant; many have called him a walking saint. He was kind, gentle, patient, witty, compassionate, fiercely protective, always soft spoken, and loved with all his heart. He will be sorely missed.

Matt is survived by his wife, Andrea; son, Cayden; daughter, Chandler; parents, Wayne and Laverne; sisters, Melanie Brown, and Karen Yell; and brother-inlaw Matt all of Scotland; In-laws, Steve and Laurie Murray; brother-in-law, Aaron Murray and his wife Kari of Iowa Park; Nieces and nephew include Laynie Armstrong, Linden Brown, Tyler Camacho, Maggie Yell, Carter, Ashton, and Lilly Murray.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Evelyn Lindemann and Emery and Magdalene Berend. Matt is probably fishing or doing woodwork with one of his grandpas already.

Serving as pallbearers for Matt are Daniel Barton, Koby Styles, Deric Gentry, Chance Schroeder, Brandon Ashley, and Kyle Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Boyte, Sean Hoff, Casey Rue, Eric Schlumpf, Greg Belz, Scott Neal and the late Brad Wolf. The family suggests memorial be made to Scotland and/or Windthorst Volunteer Fire Departments.
